Left Coast is Hiring a Managing Director

Position: Managing Director, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble (50% time)

Responsibilities:  Directs all aspects of the operations and administration of the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble.  Specific duties include:

  • Staff Support for Development, including writing and sending fund-raising appeals, maintaining donor lists, planning and managing fund-raising events
  • Grant research and writing, including identifying grant opportunities, researching foundations, writing applications, developing required information such as audience surveys and reporting
  • Concert Management, including identification and negotiation with venues; confirmation of schedule, including rehearsal scheduling; producing programs; organizing ticket sales, including ticket printing; set-up and management of venue at concerts; coordinating staff and volunteers; tabulating concert results
  • Special Event Management, including coordinating annual gala concert, house concerts, and other performance events
  • Management of composition contest and youth education program
  • Communications including marketing and advertising; press communications and publicity; social media marketing; season brochure; maintenance of website; photo shoots
  • Financial record keeping and administration (in partnership with the contract financial manager), including financial book-keeping, deposits, payroll and accounts payable, developing and monitoring budget
  • Staff support to Board of Trustees, including confirming dates and location of meetings, developing agendas with board president and secretary, maintaining records

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; experience with an arts organization or similar non-profit preferred; excellent organizational skills; flexibility and versatility; independence; imagination; passion for the arts, especially classical and new music; excellent writing skills

Salary up to $25,000
