Kick off the summer reading season with Left Coast, listening to Robert Schumann’s  stormy Adagio and Allegro, and Leoš Janáček’s  Pohádka (A Tale) as well as his first string quartet which was inspired by a Tolstoy novella. Also on the program are Thomas Adès’ trio for clarinet, violin and piano––inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest–– and Lament, a new work from composer Mika Pelo.

The Left Coast Chamber Ensemble and Board of Directors wish to acknowledge the generosity of Lena Zentall for sponsoring the San Francisco concert.
