Our Mission

Left Coast Chamber Ensemble’s (LCCE) mission is to champion chamber music and new composers with a particular emphasis on promoting the works of composers underrepresented in classical music— women and people of color. By embracing music from many eras, we illuminate familiar older works while revealing the powerful expressive intentions in the music of our time. We are also committed to continuing and evolving our broad-based education program, sponsoring our annual composition contest, championing new music through the commissioning of new works, and collaborating with current and diverse artists, thinkers, and scholars.

Black Lives Matter.

Left Coast opposes racial discrimination and injustice, and we are listening, learning and acting to combat systemic racism.

Through our programming we aim to amplify diverse voices in classical music.
