Get to know the music!

"It is a tour de force of virtuosity and balance. Like all great music, it opens the mind to new sounds and the limitless possibilities of an imagination. Even the silences are wildly expressive."
- Cellist Leighton Fong on Mario Davidovsky's Festino

"The young composers of the last 25 years are often well versed in other music traditions. Favero is a guitarist who plays both rock and classical music, and his works reflect the power that rock and metal have become indispensable resource for the music of today. It is this type of cross pollination that [...] has allowed us as performers to maintain the joy we find in bringing new works to life."
-Violist and composer Kurt Rohde on Jonathan Favero's Keep on Movin *WORLD PREMIERE*

"Striking for its intense lyricism."
-Pianist Eric Zivian on Sheila Silver’s 3-song cycle On Loving

"BB Wolf has been such a pleasure to work on -- evocative, funny, full of fun sonic tricks. Looking forward to bringing humor and a touch of the theatrical to a chamber concert!"
-Bassist and vocalist Michel Taddei on Jon Deak's BB Wolf

"It has been immensely enjoyable for me to work on Charles Peck’s Sunburst. I particularly admire the contrast between the outward energy of Reflect and the inner intensity of Absorb. As a pianist, I am also struck by the composer's very effective use of the piano’s extreme registers."
-Pianist Eric Zivian on Charles Peck's Sunburst - winner of the 2018 Left Coast Composition Contest!

"I am really looking to performing Britten's Songs from the Chinese with our soprano, Nikki Einfeld. The text are translated from Chinese poems which  speak to innocence, loss and regret.  The guitar part is beautifully written, showing a deep understanding of the capacities of the guitar."
-Guitarist Michael Goldberg on Benjamin Britten's Songs from the Chinese

Soprano Nikki Einfeld on preparing a program spanning several eras:
"I love the challenge of serving all of the composers and their styles. With a well-balanced program, which takes in to account the needs such as range and depth of emotion, this promises to be an amazing program of vocal treats."
